78 Days to Go.
Posted in Blog on October 22nd, 2007I have contacted a couple of removal firms ready to start the process of getting quotes and deciding which one to trust our possesions to. This made me start to think about what might go wrong when all our worldly goods are in a container in the middle of the ocean. Apart from getting a headache, I decided that one of the main things that could not be replaced are our photographs.

We have pictures of our daughters growing up and now we have a grandaugher (ahhh, isn’t she lovely) we are starting to get pictures on an almost daily basis. If something went wrong and they all ended up soaked (or worse) it would be a real disaster for us. To prevent this, I have bought a new all in one Printer/Scanner and will spend a number of evenings scanning all the photos I can lay my hands on and get them all onto the PC. Once they are on the PC I will copy them onto a veriety of storage devices (DVD, Hard Disk, on the Web somewhere) so that I can be sure we will be able to recover them if we have to. I’m sure I will get some kind of RSI from all the lid lifting, photo placing, album page turning, etc, etc, but it will be worth it for the peace of mind.
Oh well, better get started then
