45 Days to go.

Posted in Blog on November 23rd, 2007

Still getting on with the photos but, just for a break, cleaned the tents. Not as bad as I expected so that was a good thing.

Getting on with paperwork and trying to do things that will save running around when we get to Christchurch. I have sent off the forms to get our tax numbers in NZ, hopefully they will get here before we leave. Have also sent of the forms to open a Bank Account ready for our arrival.

4 weeks left at work now, I am finishing on the Friday before Christmas. This will give a bit of time for last minute panics and getting all those going away visits done.

Just for a complete break we are taking part in the “Leeds Abbey Dash” this weekend. It’s a 10k run from the centre of Leeds out to Kirkstall Abbey and back. We have done it a number of times in the past and it’s a really good event. Not done much training this year, so a nice gentle trot will be the order of the day! Karen is starting to develop a cold so I may end up doing it on my own. The forecast at the moment is cold with showers so will wait and see what it turns out like.

Back again soon….

51 Days to go

Time is marching on.
We have had our quotes from the removal firms and have decided to go with Crown Relocations. They are not the cheapest, but we have read some good reviews about them and more importantly they have their own operations here in the UK and in NZ. We have been “measured up” for the move and are now waiting for the final paperwork. Still some more sorting and cleaning of stuff to get on with though.

Have got about half way through scanning all the photos. Although it is a nice job in that it lets me have another look at all the pictures of the girls when they were little, it is still a very tedious operation. Lift the lid, place the photo, press the button, wait, lift the lid remove the photo, place another photo, press the button, wait, lift the lid remove the photo, place another photo, press the button, wait, lift the lid remove the photo, place another photo,……………. You get the idea. it’s so exiting I can’t wait until I start cleaning the tents :>)

Only 5 weeks left at work now as well. I am finishing just before Christmas which will allow time for last minute panics and visiting lots of people before we go. That is going to be a pretty tough period I can tell but hopefully people will supportive and send us on our way with good feelings.

That’s it for now.
