Spring is here

Even though there is still snow on the mountains it’s starting to get warmer, the days are staying lighter and things are starting to grow in the garden. I have planted some carrots and other vegy stuff in the veg patch – I even have some potatoes “chitting” ready to be planted soon. All sorts of things have started sprouting in the garden and we now have to wait and see what all the bits of green turn into.
It is nearly seven months since Karen and I arrived in New Zealand and things are starting to feel a bit more settled now. After the visits of Julie and Michelle and al the excitement with them we are now settling into a normal routine. Karen has cut her hours down and now working 4 days a week as the shifts were proving quite difficult. I am settling in to working at Ballantynes and getting to grips with the IT stuff there. Karen is going to the Gym on a regular basis and seems to be spending quite a lot of time at cafe’s
with friends!
We have been buying bits and pieces to dress the house and make it feel not so bare. With the better weather we have started going out walking again. We went for a walk along the Rakia Gorge last week The scenery was fantastic with the snow on the mountains. As we were walking along we came across this picnic set by the side of the track so we stopped for our lunch and admired the view.
Karen has bought me a Paragliding lesson for my birthday and I am really looking forward to that. It is something I have wanted to do for ages – just waiting for a Sat/Sun with good weather for flying and I’ll be off.
More soon.
