Walking, Woodwork and thoughts of Christmas
Posted in Blog on December 16th, 2008Went for a lovely walk to Lake Daniels last week. A 2 hour walk through Beech Forests and by the side of a river
brings you out to a remote Lake surounded by hills. The weather was not perfect but it did not rain until after we got to the hut at the Lake. The scenery was terrific and the low clouds moving through the hills were quite dramatic. The hut was quite big, but as it was mid-week there was only one other couple there.
And obviously I must have far too much spare time as I have been making a chair for the patio. We kept looking round for a set of chairs for outside and could not find anything that we really liked. So in the end I decided to have a go at making one. This first one is just a prototype made from cheap Pine just to see if it was OK. It has turned out really well so after Christmas I am going to get some decent wood and make some good ones and put this first attempt up at the Veg Patch so I can sit down now and then when Karen thinks I am busy hoeing.
We are off back to the UK for Christmas and the New Year so it’s not likely there will be any more posts till 2009. So with that in mind I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and a wonderfull New Year with best wishes to you all from Karen and myself
